2 Questions For You
I.
What specific aspect of your performance do you need more information about before your target event?
II.
If you approached your next B-race purely as a learning opportunity, what would you do differently?
1 Real-World Example
Before her round the world record, Jenny Graham took part in several bike packing events that took her way outside her comfort zone.
In that process she learned a number of valuable logistical practices and strengthened her mental resilience.
In particular, she learned that
- riding to a time based schedule is much more effective and flexible than riding to distance;
- she is much better at focusing on keeping going and minimising stops than trying to ride faster (everyone is different here so testing for yourself is important); and that
- she had no problem with riding long back to back days, which led to a change in training focus to build her average speed and medium durations powers.
If you followed Jenny's journey or read her excellent book 'Coffee First Then The World' you will know that all these things played an important part in her journey.
