EBR Women

Empowering Women in Cycling

EBR Women brings together female cyclists and runners from all over the world with inspiring role models, and a supportive training community. It’s built around long-term coaching experience, real transformations, and the belief that progress should be authentic, accessible, and grounded.

Listen to inspiring women

EBR Women is a podcast from Endurance Bike & Run exploring the relationship between endurance sport, wellbeing and the wider journey of life.

Hosted by coach Clare Pearson, the podcast shares conversations with women from across the endurance community. From scholarship athletes to experienced competitors, each episode explores the realities of training, resilience, recovery and personal growth through sport.

Endurance sport is rarely just about physiology. It is about how we manage effort, balance stress and recovery, and navigate the challenges that appear both in training and in life. Through thoughtful conversations and real experiences, EBR Women looks at how endurance sport can shape not only performance but also wellbeing and self-understanding.

Leanne Wrightson is a 41-year-old mountain leader, bike guide, and owner of Blooming Wild Adventures.

She embodies the EBR Women’s Scholarship's mission to foster confidence, mental well-being, and understanding of neurodivergency for women through cycling and ultra-distance adventures.

Her shift to an outdoor-focused lifestyle began after a major burnout at age 28, and she now uses her journey to inspire other women to overcome mental challenges like low confidence, imposter syndrome, and ADHD.

Dilara Tuna is a passionate and deeply relatable ultra-distance athlete whose achievements include completing the Silk Road Mountain Race (2023) and taking 2nd female at Granguanche Audax (2025)

Her honest story of battling self-doubt  resonates with many, and the EBR Women's Scholarship is now providing the professional structure needed to help her move past limiting beliefs and unlock her full potential in 2026 as she targets the Trans Balkan Race among other exciting adventures.

May Jackson, a 40-year-old Landscape Gardener from Colorado, USA, works hard to  balance real-life demands with ambitious endurance goals.

Her story is characterized by a grounded realism, making her relatable to many riders who juggle life and sport.

May is pursuing progress with openness and determination, recently recognizing that sheer grit alone is insufficient. She is now taking an intentional approach by seeking structured coaching for the first time to build effective habits, address challenges like fuelling and hormonal irregularities, and structure training around highly irregular seasonal work hours.

Understanding Your Challenges

Every woman’s journey in endurance sports comes with questions, fluctuations, and moments of uncertainty. It’s normal to wonder why your progress feels inconsistent, why fatigue suddenly appears, or why your motivation shifts throughout the month.

Many women experience these things without real support, especially when most training systems are built around male physiology.

At EBR, we help you make sense of your body, your energy, and your training.

Through a calm, supportive approach, we help you understand what’s happening beneath the surface so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Whether you choose to learn through the community, join the EBR Women’s Club, or work directly with Clare or John as your coach, you are supported with knowledge that respects you — your physiology, your psychology, your life.

Why Endurance Bike and Run?

Some questions and concerns you may have.

Do I need to be an elite cyclist to apply?
Not at all. We’re looking for women with meaningful goals and the commitment to pursue them, regardless of current performance level. This program is about potential and dedication, not race results. You should be willing to work hard and cycling should be a big part of your life.
What will my financial contribution be?

The scholarship heavily subsidizes the coaching and equipment provided. Scholars make a small monthly contribution to ensure mutual commitment, but the value of what you’ll receive is far greater.

Do I need to be active on social media?

We are interested in authentic stories and not social hype but you will be a brand ambassador and therefore expected do share your journey in an innovative and engaging way.

How much time do I need to commit?
On average, scholars train upwards of 8 hours per week, depending on your goals and life commitments. We’ll work with you to design a plan that fits your reality.
What if I face setbacks like illness or injury?
That’s normal in any long-term journey. We adapt your training plan and provide support so you can keep moving forward safely, even if progress slows.
Can I apply if I live outside Europe?

Yes! The program is open internationally. Coaching is delivered online, and equipment support can be shipped to you.

What happens after the 12 months?

At the end of the program, you’ll have the option to continue as a coached athlete or there may be a possibility to extend your scholarship. The goal is that you’ll leave with new confidence, structure, and performance you can carry forward. You won't be left completely unsupported as you will be part of our athlete community.

Am I tied into a contract?
The initial commitment is for 12 months but this can be terminated early, either by you or by us if either party fails to uphold the agreement.
